New Testimonial: Darby Flynn

"Rebecca truly is the quintessential networker in the Sacramento region. Gregarious and ambitious, she gains a lot of credibility running a networking organization having been a small business owner herself in Sacramento.

Rebecca is very knowledgeable about the business mixing climate and puts on a lot of quality events with Get Networking Now. Additionally, she is a great speaker and trainer and I would highly recommend her to facilitate networking for any business conference or training event.

Rebecca really knows how to work a room and is truly a skilled business relationship matchmaker. If you haven't met Rebecca yet, you should. Your business success may depend on it!"

Rebecca Johnson Shares the Stage with Shari Fitzpatrick, the Berry Factory

During Global Entrepreneurship Week, CSU Sacramento hosted a week of entrepreneurial focused events. The Kick-Off Event was November 16, 2009 in the Alumni Center. Key note speakers were Shari Fitzpatrick of "The Berry Factory" (Formerly Shari's Berries) and John O'Donnel, First President and CEO of Vision Service Plan (VSP) who mesmerized and inspired attendees by sharing their tips to building an entrepreneurial empire from scratch.

I had the honor of sharing the stage with these mentors, as I presented tips on how to successfully build a network of people that inspires and motivates you to reach your dreams. Some of the tips included:

*Don't be a wall-flower! Be bold and get outside or your comfort zone!
*It's not about collecting the dots, its about CONNECTING the dots!
*Relationships, Relationships, Relationships!

After my presentation, I moderated a several rounds of "Speed Networking", where participants were encouraged to find someone in the room that they did not already know and share, for one minute, their name, business or major (since a lot of our guests were students) and either their dream job or dream client that they would like to connected to.

The guests completed several rounds, exchanged information and business cards and left with more motivation to accomplish their entrepreneurial dreams!

There is no doubt our Capitol City businesses have suffered through our ever-changing economy. Businesses on multiple levels have had to make sacrifices; downsizing, cutting salaries, furloughing, laying off, and certainly cutting expenses. Small business, especially in Sacramento, is no exception. One expense that seems to be a commonality, is the Company Holiday Party.

Historically, no matter how large or small an office or business is, company's have celebrated the holidays and their accomplishments with their partners, employees, and sometimes, vendors and customers. It is a time when people put work aside, and come together over food, drinks, entertainment and memories that often survive the company itself.

This year, small and medium sized businesses, consultants, solopreneurs, coaches, recruiters, realtors and attorney's are all invited to participate in Get Networking Now's inaugural "Sacramento Region Company Holiday Party"! On Thursday, December 17, business owners, their employees, their vendors and key clients will enjoy a "BIG" celebration on a small business budget! Part of the proceeds will also benefit a local childrens' arts organization, Chalk It Up!

Chef Simon Mandell, co-owner of Courtyard D'Oro a new restaurant and banquet faciliaty in Old Sacramento, is preparing a "feast" for these hardworking entrepreneurs consisting of four cuisines, followed by dessert, dancing, music, entertainment. and "swag bags" with special offers, samples and promotions from local businesses. The event is scheduled from 6-10 pm at Courtyard D'Oro, which is located at 1700 Front Street under G Williker's Toy Emporium.

Ticket prices are $40 at the door, $35 presale. Special Pricing is available for small businesses with profiles on www.sacgnn.com and is FREE with paid monthly membership to Get Networking Now. Tickets may be purchased at: http://sacareacompanyparty.eventbrite.com/
